Sustainability and innovation in focus at newly started center
2020-11-09 News
In March this year, Bulten Innovation Center, adjacent to the Bulten facility in Bielsko-Biala in southern Poland was opened. Today, there are three engineers working here to design prototypes and special solutions mainly focusing on lowering carbon dioxide emissions and to optimizing the assembly process for customers.
Łukasz Woźniak is responsible for developing the center.
- Bulten has a good reputation and is associated with high quality here in Poland, he says.
Now he and his two colleagues will develop new products that are at the forefront. Innovations that, among others, make the products safer, easier to manufacture and more climate-smart.
- We work with new ideas, with focus on sustainability and customer value, says Łukasz Woźniak.
The team is already testing different prototypes and has several 3D printers that can print what they design in CAD. The department will also assist in finding solutions to complicated problems at the customers.
Reducing the carbon footprint is a strong focus. The group will work with Bulten's new innovative product family BUFOe, where the heat treatment is removed when manufacturing fasteners.
- With BUFOe, we can save up to 50 percent in energy consumption while we can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 30 percent, Łukasz concludes.
